Colorado Springs Area Historic Sites

Colorado has been called the Wild Wild West, Indian territory for several different tribes, and a gold rush site to start with. The state is home to old mining railroad spurs used for carrying ore over treacherous areas, cliff dwellings for Indian protection, and old Army Forts representing civilization's push westward. Each of these periods has left an indelible mark both on the history of the region and on the history of the nation.
